Bloody human anatomy eh, is there other bits that are damn annoying like Brain freeze after eating ice cream/putting head into cryo.

They call it the "funny bone" because when you bump it usually you laugh, but you don't laugh like you are laughing at something funny because it hurts. Now, why do you laugh when you bump the funny bone? I have no idea, I would like to know also. Maybe another question would be why doesn't it hurt to pinch the skin on your elbow? No matter how hard you pinch that skin, you stilll won't feel a thing!

Because it is painful.
When I hit my "funny bone" last week it was not funny in fact it still hurts. It did not bruise but still hurts to lift very much weight (a coffee cup of coffee)or move my arm in a rotating motion.

The reason it's called the funny bone is because it's Latin name is the Humerus, which is pronounced the same as "humourous". And it does make you feel funny-weird when you hit it.

You hid a lot of unprotected nerve endings, which is why it hurts. Though why it is called the funny bone I don't know!

exactly its not funny so why call it that it acutally hurts alittle in a strange way ,maybe its cause other people think its funny.

cause it is uncontrolable. it is "funny" could also be crazy. feels funny sorta, maybe not seem funny but i always laugh when someone hits it, lol ;)
