Moisture dissolves scabs. As has been suggested, water will do the trick, but it will take a lot of soaking. Try washing the scab with warm soap and water. Rinse it thoroughly so that it has time to absorb some of the liquid. Apply hydrogen peroxide, then cover the scab with an antibacterial cream or ointment like Bacitracin or Neosporin. Cover it with a bandage or Band-Aid. This keeps the moisture in and will dissolve the scab.

Scabs form when platelets coagulate over a wound to help it heal. If you try to dissolve the scab instead of letting it heal naturally, you could have a permanent scar where the scab was. Just give it time and it will heal on its own.

Soak the area in warm water... the thicker the scab, the longer you'll have to soak it! Then, peel it away while it's still wet. Put pressure on it to keep it from bleeding so that a new scab doesn't develop. Or... just leave it alone... it'll go away on it's own.

First of all WHY ???

The scab is there for protection until the new skin grows back.

Leave it alone

Go to your doc and ask for "Bazuka" Gel
Look it up on the Internet first. It works, I had a hard wart on my elbow for a long time and I used Bazuka and it cleared up within 2 weeks.
