In my own country (USA), no I would not. Unless it was meant as a costume for a play or, say, to educate others on what life is like for women in other parts of the world.
If I were in a country where burqas are a required part of dress for women, I *might* wear one, depending on my reasons for being in the country. I wouldn't want to be disrespectful to those religions which require them. I understand the religious rationale behind the "veil" for women. Not that I necessarily agree with it, but I get it.
However, if the burqas are simply a symbol of feminine oppression and male domination and control, then I wouldn't wear one. I'd rather stand up for human and civil rights and die as a consequence than acquiesce to caveman notions of male/female roles in society.

I'm not a female, but when you're in a foreign country, it's better to follow the dress code of that country than to be singled out and suffer the consequences. I've been to Israel, Spain, Italy, France, Prague, Turkey, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Iraq. All differ on what's "socially" acceptable and not acceptable. The excuse that I'm an "American" doesn't sit well in most foreign countries. Keep in mind, that although you might be an "American" you're no longer in "America" once you enter a foreign country. The rules are very, very different! Long story short, WEAR THE BURQA or stay home! :)

Though wearing one is not my first choice, and I would not wear one in my own country, I would do what I had to do if I were visiting or staying in another country. The same as we would like visitors to respect the laws of our country.... If it was law, a matter of life or death, you betcha! Some places may place strong sanctions if dress codes were not met. Many countries have them but not to as strong a degree as others. A lady has gotta do what she's gotta do...to survive!

I suppose if it were in my religion to wear one I would. I am American and I live in the Middle East. I am not Muslim. But I have been places where I have been asked to cover my hair and face...and I have done it out of respect to their tradition and religious beliefs.

I wont! I wont go to such a country! I wont oppose it as everyone has right to be in their customs & traditions. If they dont like it, opposition has to come from them. I wont do such a brawl on my visit to that place. I believe in live and let other's live

I dont think women from those countries are able to choose. They have to wear otherwise then can suffer terrible consequences.
