omg, I am French, I read a few answers, and it's so funny that some people think that we are 10 years behind.. It is so not true, French people are usually more fashionable than Americans,..However, the trends might come up a few months earlier in the United STates, but only a few Americans follow them.. back to your question...

yea, if it is an assignment for school,, I guess you should follow the stereotype!!!
So find a "beret" (buy a black one, it will be easier to pull the outfit together), you can find some for 19 bucks here

http://www.souvenirsofparis.com/caps/caps.htm

Also wear a thick striped top (you won't have a hard time finding them in stores since they are in right now), probably navy and white !!!
Wear black capris, and black shoes.
If you want (I think you should, it would make the outfit stand out), you can wear a fake mustache, you know like the typical stereotype of french waiters... but if u dun want to look like a guy,
find... a "baguette" (the bread), you can find some at publix !!!

hope that helps!

Stereotypically: Berets (hat), stripey tops, onions round their neck!
However, this is not true! Depends on what age you are focussing on - some people say that 'France is about 10 years behind us in fashion' but I'm not sure if this is true.
Teenagers generally wear similar things to in England, although there is a lot of english writing on the clothes e.g. Love or Peace etc.
There are also brand names which they have e.g. Levis and H&M
I remember a shop which teenagers particularly liked called 'Jenifer' - I will see if I can find any websites and tell you soon.

LOTS of color
i was watching this one show about fr*nch design and this one designer lady said that fr*nch women aren't afraid of using color
they like scarfs, LEGWARMERS(hilarious, i know), and basically a lot of the same design as we have in America(that is, if u live here)

Target has a new designer for their international fashions
her name is Tara Jarmon and she is fr*nch. i like her clothing
so u will probably find some female fr*nch clothing there
