Read good books. I'd also suggest reading newspapers like the Chicago Tribune (you can read it online as well) since they have excellent writing that isn't hard to understand, and stories that cover a wide range of topics. I only suggest reading the Tribune because if you're looking at tight time constraints, you may not have time to delve into many books. However, two books I'd recommend are WRITE TO LEARN by Donald Murray (it's out of print, but you can probably find it on Amazon.com) and ELEMENTS OF STYLE by Strunk and White.

For the record, I am a professional writer and editor, so I hope these ideas help you. I know they've helped me.

You can start off with reading english novels, newspapers etc. Read it loud, that way your mouth along with you mind will be better accustomed when ever you will need to speak in english. try to speak to people in english who themselves have good comand over it, dont go and speak to anybody and everybody in english. there is nothing wrong to imitate how the other guy pronounces different words, again read a lot in english
