I really want to travel to the USA and spend a couple of months travelling around. Can you advise me on different places to visit and why? What is the weather like now? What city is the nicest at Christmas? Thanks for your help.

I'd love to do New York over Christmas. It always looks fantastic when they show it on films or TV. But it gets really cold there in December. I would say if you're going to do a tour of the states you should go to as many places as possible. Get a visa and work as you go then you'll have an income to keep extending your trip.

I would not travel to the USA at this time, under no circumstances.
The way the current US administration treats foreign visitors is appaling and unacceptable.
They will take your photograph and fingerprints as if you were a criminal, plus 34 other pieces of intimate personal information, including your complete address, all telephone numbers and your bank and credit card details. There is no need for that, and in fact the European Court of Justice has declared the practice illegal last month.
Since these measures were introduced, I refuse to set foot on US soil or spend one single penny in the USA. I have meanwhile refused all-expenses-paid holidays in New York and Las Vegas, two invitations to teach at Princeton University, and several private invitations. And I will never enter the USA unless the ridicilous and illegal measures are abolished.
It is up to you if you want to be treated like a criminal. If not, don't enter the USA.

I live in the South, the heat down here is oppressive. In the winter it doesn't get below freezing often but the humidity augments the cold. The best time to visit Dixie is Fall/Spring, although Spring is the time that tornadoes are most likely. The weather in Los Angeles is ok year round but the city stinks, I'm not going back. I guess it depends own what you want to see.

West Michigan/Grand Rapids is a great place to visit (see link). Right now, the weather is beautiful summer-like weather. However, in the winter it turns into a winter wonderland, which usually guartantees a pretty, white Christmas.

You can't miss Las Vegas! My husband and I went there last October for our honeymoon and we had so much fun - and didn't gamble at all! There's so much more to do there, and the shows are fantastic. Also the Grand Canyon really is amazing and just breathtaking to see. Do go on the ground and in the air if you can! New York at Christmas I think is the best bet:) Have fun!

You have to go to Bar Harbor, Maine. The weather is perfect this time of year and it is so much fun. Go to a lobster pound and have a three pound lobster and a blueberry ale. Stay at the Holiday Inn Sunspree resort.
