When Australians come to the US (or any other country) they are foreigners. Similarly, when Americans go to any other country, they are the foreigners.

Anyone that carries a passport from another place and is visiting the soil of a country that they do not have citizenship (or the passport) is the foreigner! So if an Australian is on US soil, they are the foreigner and the tables turn when an American visits Australia.

Australians in America ARE foreigners. The color of your skin has nothing to do with nationality. Any foreign born person or a person that has not become a "naturalized citizen" is a foreigner.

In America, when we see an out of state license plate on a car, we consider THEM foreigners.
