well, technically, if a meteor was big enough to wipe out the ENTIRE continent of Africa, then the rest of the world wouldnt survive b/c it would create a tsunami so big nothing would live. or the earth itself would be knocked out of orbit and 1/2 the people would burn alive and the other 1/2 would freeze in a nuclear winer. so...consider the difference THAT would make.

I think that if Africa were wiped off the face of the earth by a meteorite or any other natural disaster the world world suffer a horrendous loss. Not so much in the economic sense but for the loss of the wonderful people there, the historical loss and culturally. Has Africa not been referred to as the cradle of civilization?

if a meteorite were big enough to wipe out africa it would be big enough too change the world completly any way tha´t´s note the point.
This is very serious i mean the thing is there´s so much people sick with malari aids and others diseases, there´s hunger and starvation, continuos revolution , killing and slavery. then i would assume human average life qualiti would rise if all of them just wiped out clean. if you talk all about africa just making poff i would say egypt s ancient architecture and myth and madagascar beauty, and the jungles it all jus going would severe the whole planet deeply... if you talk onl of the people there certainly would be world grief
p.s. would miss the diamonds too

It would make a difference because Afric is rich is Diamonds, gold and much more. It will be the focal point for eccommerce.
At this very moment; entrepreneurs are discussing to expand their business and it will be a place like india; a place to outsource skills.
Africa is going to be one powerful country oneday. Just check out India and how it is grown. Big banks, I.T companies and many companies moved their business and now, they're thinking og Africa and so is India and so is Arabia.
So yes, it will make a big difference for economy. It is rich in nutricient, and productivity of nature. Companies are definitley looking there.
Finally, the people there like other third world countries, are dedicated to education. They have this burning desire to knowledge and youths are wanting to learn, they are communicating using old computers to share their stories to the world, and I have read how persistent, how courageous they are.
Many take knowledge, education in west for granted but man, when they get the system sorted, my God. We're going to have new inventors, scientists, buzzing people thriving for knowledge and business.
So yes, it would make a big difference.

If Africa was wiped out by a meterorite, there would be so much dust that life on earth no longer would exist.
The world would miss out on being a living planet.

well, I live in South Africa and apart from the gold, platinum and diamonds that we trade with the rest of the world I think that you are correct. Few people would miss us if we dissapeared.

well, maybe canada and mexico would suffer, and then only because we are right next to the states. the rest of the world would suddenly have money to do things, instead of paying the trillions they owe to the US.
