We are not US citizens; however, we got married in USA and lived in USA for 7 years before we divorced. He is a Japanese and I am a Taiwanese. We went back to our home countries before we divorced. we only registered our marriage in USA. We both have signed the divorce agreement with 2 witness and lawyer. How can I file my divorce in USA to terminate our marriage? I don't know if he did or not. I want to make sure that our marriage is end offically.

Dear Lady Hewitt,
Did you mean that my marriage is end offically because we have signed the divorce agreement with 2 witnesses and lawyer? Therefore, that divorce agreement can be the legal approvable documentation.

Hmm I am not sure on this one. You may have to contact a lawyer over here in the states somewhere and see what you need to do. Talk to a lawyer over there too and see what your options are. You may be offictially divorced already but i am not certain. You need to look into this and find out.
