The lively television channel MTV has been known for its spoofs on the Bollywood actors and films. If you are a regular on the channel, you must've definitely not forgotten the episodic spoof MTV had made on Lagaan few years back. And now, after its humorous takes on some of the famous television shows, MTV has taken a big step ahead. Much prior to the release of the awaited sequel Dhoom 2, MTV has created a full-length feature film on super hit movie Dhoom. This will possibly be the first time in India that a television channel is looking forward to give a theatrical release to a spoof film.

Produced under the banner of MTV Fully Faltoo Films, the spoof titled Ghoom, MTV has named the actors Abhishek Bachao, Who Dare Chopra and Kaun Abraham who will be doing all the action. Ghoom is a 45-minute comedy action flick with its story based on the original Dhoom, in which a super-cop tries to nab a gang of biker thieves. The film also has a title track picturized as an item number with witty lyrics.

Ashish Patil, VP & GM, Creative and Content, MTV Networks India, seems to be very excited about the whole project. According to him, Yashraj films were aware of the spoof and extended their full support to the project. Planning to give a proper release to the film by releasing trailer and promotions, Ashish Patil is confident that people surely won't mind spending money for this one.

Ghoom will have a theatrical release on June 2 in four cities in India which includes Mumbai, Delhi, Pune and Kolkata. In addition, Mumbai will also see the glitziest stars walk the red carpet at the premiere show at INOX Nariman Point on May 31, 2006.

About Ghoom

Synopsis: Cops, robbers, big bikes and even bigger women - that's what 'Ghoom' is all about! The movie puts the whole cops-and-robbers genre on the frying pan and serves it funny side up!

The Plot: It's about a super cop (read blooper-cop) who wants to nab a gang of five biker thieves, who also double up as pizza delivery guys to hide their real identity. Being fast ones on fast machines, they always escape our super cop. So, bullying someone as fast as them into joining him seems the only option left for our super cop if he wants to foil their next robbery. Enter the mechanic who turns out to be a bigger idiot than the cop. The mega robbery that's supposed to happen at a well-known dance bar finally turns into a riot of idiotic incidents.

Finally, the climax is a deadly and engrossing face-off between the super-cop and the super thief - what makes the climax deadly and engrossing is something that we're not telling yet

The Cast:

The Cop - Sumeet Raghavan (Inspector Vijay Dikshit) Determined, daring and damn delicious. A man of many faces, he always gets his many-faced men. Get him on the job and you could win his wife's picture. FREE!

The Cop's Bride - Benika Deepak (Tweety Dikshit, Inspector Vijay's wife) Half-dressed, half-brained and half-loyal. A woman of very few words, she's more into doing. And doing it right. Also available in small, medium and barely there.

The Fool - Ajay Gehi (Neal, Bike mechanic) Fortunate, foolproof and utterly faltoo. A boy still lost in his tools, he has bigger nuts than any other mechanic. Bandana optional.

The Fool's Dilbaara - Purbi Joshi (Sun tanned, moon shined) A girl who barely makes an appearance, her role was essential to the producers. Will be new and improved with extra SPF-420.

The Bad Good-Looking Guy - Gaurav Chopra (Balbir, Pizza boy aka thief) Very handsome, very cool and goes to night school. A guy who doesn't know love, only the lust of a jism.
