My shoulder tatoo hurt on the scale of 5, and I have 6. None on my arms or hands, all in hiding spots if I want them hid. I plan to get one more and that is between the top part of my shoulders, and me being so thin, I am told it is going to hurt a lot, but I think they are WORTH the short time of pain. And I advice not to get anything on your body you will regret. MAKE SURE it is what you want. That is what I did. And I don't regret any of them being there.

It depends on how much "meat" you have in the area. My most painful tat was in my ankle area, but that was mainly b/c I was nervous and tensed up. All the other ones I chatted with the tattoo guy the entire time. Just don't be nervous and you'll be fine. It's not a pain that will kill you, you know!!! Some people actually get off on it.

I got a tattoo just above my shoulderblade. I remember the pain was initially more annoying than intolerable. After awhile I didnt really notice it at all. Supposedly, the least painful parts to tattoo are the fleshy areas of the legs and arms while the most painful are areas near joints (i.e. wrists, elbows, knees and ankles).

I don't think it should hurt that bad. For me, it usually hurts where the skin is thinner. I had a tattoo done down my arm. It only really hurt when they were covering the middle part (the part where they usually take your blood- if you donate) Anyways...just don't think about the pain that much. It took 3 hours to get my arm done, and I'd only rate it about a 3.

if you have any other tats anywhere i can tell you that the shouldes blade is about one or two points higher so if your arm was 3 shoulder blades or 4-5, chest is the worst!

6. it'll be more uncomfortable than painful. I'm a wimp and I just got a tattoo, and I only flinched like, once...the best word I could use to describe the feeling was "dumb"

I say don't be afraid, cuz it's not really pain.
