They`d rather lie and try to cover up something ..like the Truth, because the truth is not in them.

Because it's easier to lie. I try to tell the truth,but my problem is i normally say things in the heat of the moment so it comes out really blunt, and then I wish I would've lied!

1. To avoid the consequences of our actions
2. To avoid hurting someone's feelings (as in, no, that dress doesn't make you look fat)
3. To avoid causing someone to be harmed (as in do you lie to the Nazis about the Jews hidden under your house)
4. To cause someone harm
5. Fear of rejection or loss of love

Either because they don't like what actually occurred, because they think they can gain something, like getting out of trouble. As Jack Nicholson said, "You can't handle the truth." trust me, most people can't.

Because they have something to hide or telling a lie will get them something they want or avoid some set of consequences that eventually always come even if they try to avoid them.

Because they do not want people to know how they really act or what they are really thinking or what they are avoiding. It blows me away to see a friend or friends of mine lie and they do not even miss a beat.
The one that bothers me the most? My fiance. I just "assume" people are honest and when they are not, It bothers me.
