Eric Clapton's song "Tears in Heaven" is a tribute to his pre-school aged son, Conor Clapton, who died in an accident in 1991. The song won a grammy award for the Best Pop Vocal Performance (Male Category) in 1993. He also wrote "The Circus Left Town," which remembers the last time he saw his son alive (they had attended a circus the night before Conor's death), and the song "Lonely Stranger."
