A dreamcatcher is a Native American creation that is traditionally a willow hoop (hoop symbolising strength and unity) woven with strands with findings and bits from everyday life threaded on the strands. It should be hung over one's bed and is said to be able to filter one's dreams, catching the bad dreams and letting the good ones filter through. Feathers are usually hung from it on long threads and the good dreams know the way through the strands and slide down the feathers to the person at rest underneath the dreamcatcher.

A dream-catcher is a device used by ancient American Indian tribes to catch evil spirits that would appear in dreams. The dreamcatcher is a hoop with woven material covering the center, and usually feathers hanging from the bottom of the hoop. The hoop would be covered with a woven material that would criss cross through the middle of the hoop. The idea was the woven material in the middle of the circle would catch the spirit as it tried to enter your dream. The Dream-catcher would have to be hung above the head of the person sleeping in order to work correctly. A picture can be found at www.corsioffice.it/dicono.htm

It's a Native American hand-made object. They are usually made with leather, beads, and feathers. They are said to capture good dreams & help them to come true. Other people say they catch bad dreams to keep you from having nightmares at night. If nothing else, they are beautiful pieces of artwork!

A dream catcher is a net that is supposed to trap your bad dreams in it's holes and let the good dreams through into your mind as you sleep. The bad dreams are trapped inside the net and burn when the sun rises and then they keep burning untill you wake and and then that dream disappears.

it is a circle with feathers ( I have seen) like a spider web on the inside of the circle. You hang it over your bed to keep bad dreams away. I believe I was told it was an American Indian belief. I think I have seen similar things in other cultures.
