so i am getting made redundent i have only been there just under a year but get paid monthly i need some advice on where i stand cheers

Sorry to hear that..... legally you have to be with a company for 2 years so if you are getting a redundancy package then your lucky as they have no legal obligation to do so..... but i would speak to your union rep just to be sure as they can mediate for you.... also start looking for a job now don't leave it till you have finished there.... good luck

If the company has been taken over by a new owner both parties are obligated to ensure that existing staff are consulted in regards to continued employment with the company if it is continuing to carry out the same type of business. Any employee movement would come under the heading of Transfer of Undertaking. in which case your current contract of employment must continue without change for 12 months from the transfer.
If the "new" company is retaining your current department or job position, they cannot make you redundant as the position is still available, and you should be offered a Transfer of Undertaking as mentioned earlier. Other than that they should offer you a Compromise Agreement whereby you agree to go if an agreed monetary sum has been negotiated. Best of luck
