Political Science traces the evolution of political ideas and gives us an understanding why we believe in the contemporary political values. Simultaneously it is an arena where the struggle for and against various ideas and systems of thought are theoretically contesting. The discipline is largely reflective. It may also have an emperical dimension which enumerates conditions by quantifying peoples representation etc which then again is used to contest ideas.
