Try sellers at a flea market. Also, cards printed before 1964 don't have a zip code. There are linen card and chromo cards. If the card has a white border, it was printed in the 30's and 40's. The books at the library probably won't be much help, there is no way to document all the postcards ever printed. The books that would be helpful are local history books. Good Luck!!

There are many types of old postcards and how to rate them varies my suggestion is to go to your local library and get a few books on the subject they can be rated by condition type of card and even the stamp that was used or if it never received cancellation for such a diverse subject you really need to research also try sellers at flea markets and pick their brains
