Does this sound good, or does this sound like Marvel is just trying to make another buck?

Marve's entire reason for existence is to make a buck, my friend. Why else were there over a half-dozen Spiderman titles until recently? Why else did they recently reboot the character so that a younger person can be Spidey?
I haven't read Civil War 2 yet, but it is a pretty interesting storyline idea. I think it is a lot more complex than when i was a kid. that's both good and bad. I cannot share most of today's comics with my nephews or nieces, since most of them are too adult for them. But that's where the money is, you see? Adult readers and collectors.

well i have yet to receive a copy of civil war 2. they are sold out at the shop right now. but with all the media coverage on this, i am actually suprised. i had figured that spiderman would switch sides before he'd actually unmask. but instead he revealed himself. and in issue 2 no less! although i am for captain america's side and not really for revealing identites, especially from such a popular hero, i applaud marvel for such a bold choice. for once you actually get the feeling that marvel is changing forever with this civil war series!

It does sound like Marvel is trying to make a buck by sensationalizing one of the most taboo subjects in all of comicdom. Any villain in the Marvel Universe that finds out Spiderman's identity eventually ends up in the ground by the finish of the story. This time, however, I have no idea how the writers are going to get out of this one. Previously, there have been so many storylines where Peter is trying so hard to hide his identity that this is a shock.

I hope they don't pull a "Heroes Reborn" reboot to cancel all this out. They wrote themselves into a corner, in my opinion, I hope they can write themselves out of it.

when i saw the trialer for civil war. i was eager to start reading. after all that happened in house of m, somthing big had to happen. civil war may have not been the best route to take. as for peter unmaskin himself, i dont see where this can take the comics for the future. a lot of the apeal is that he has this alterego. the trouble payin rent, family problems etc. this takes all that away. iv not read any of it yet, and i may wait a while until i do, see how others take to it first.

I agree with arcayne, it's all about the money.

Joe Q. is using the revealing of Spiderman's identity and try to distract from his own comments about Peter Parker/Mary Jane marriage.

I was a bit shocked. I loved Jonah's reaction.

I will be very upset if they end up wiping the world memory or something at the end. That will be it for marvel.

Same thing if Tony Stark turns out to be a skrull.

Marvel just made the biggest mistake in company's history because of what they did. They should have left it alone & keep Spiderman's secret idendity.
