I relaize it's probably an attention thing. I know's he not hungry. Any suggestions for getting him to be quiet at 4am? And no I'm not gonna beat him or anything. And getting another piggy isn't an option.

Most rodents are nocturnal. Guinea pigs, however, are an exception. They are equally active during the day and night. It's very common for cavies to start their day at 4-5am. He/she could be begging for food if you've fed it first thing in the morning in the past. There really isn't anything you can do to "make" it be quiet. Does he/she have a constant supply of pellets, timothy hay and fresh water? Did you give him/her hiding places? (these add a sense of security)
Hope I helped and good luck with your piggie. :)

Rodents are basically nocturnal so they are more active at night. Try giving him a little light that might help at least stop the squealing..
