Rudolf the red nosed reindeer makes me cry - I think it is a typical example of modern times that all the rein-deers would call him names and not let him join in any reindeer games and then what happens ? Santa comes to stay , offers him a job and suddenly all the rein-deers love him - THIS IS REALLY SICK ! and just goes to show what I have thought all along - rein-deers are fickle and have very low values , especially in the workplace - so I cry with desperation that the song that is probably the best know song about deer is such a bad example to both stag and doe alike !

Love Kate Bush! Songs that makes me cry "Kite" by U2 off the cd "All That You Can't Leave Behind" and "Sometimes You Can Make It On Your Own" off the cd "How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb" Bono wrote these songs about his father after his father died. If ya want to read the lyrics go to U2.com and click on the cd and then on lyrics.

I once cried at an opera. It was Tchaikovski's "Eugene Onegin" and the song Lenski sings just before he gets shot actually made me cry that first time I heard it.
I felt like such a baby but the song is really sad and I was really into the opera. The singer had a way of really getting the audience to feel the charater's emotions.
Also, Iced Earth's "I died For You" is pretty emotionally wrenching but I haven't actually cried over it.

Several of the ones from the musical Les Miserables especially when Fantine is dying and when Eponine is killed later.
For personal reasons Bryan Ferry`s version of John Lennon`s Jealous Guy usually works too.

there are a few for me:
maps- yeah yeah yeahs (because of the lead singer's voice and the way the song sounds, the lyrics also just hit me.)
adam's song- blink 182 (about suicide-- internal struggle i have.)
all of this- blink 182 (mark hoppus' voice just has a tone of such longing and the chorus makes me really sad)
my sundown- jimmy eat world (it's about disappointing yourself and others, and about how no one cares when you try-- struggling with this, too)
mad world- tears for fears/ gary jules ( "the dreams in which i'm dying are the best i've ever had...")
diminishing returns- harvey danger (just the way it sounds...)
the adventure- angels & airwaves ("i wanna have the same last dream again, the one where i wake up, and i'm alive..." i dunno why this one makes me cry, really)

When I was pregnant any Carol King song did it for me - especially "you've got a friend". Don't know why - think it was the hormones plus her beautiful voice. Since then, I still can't listen to her without filling up!
