usually with women, bisexuality is due to curiosity (and fades eventually) or due to some form of abuse growing up. sexual abuse, physical abuse, emotional abuse... any of these is enough. in the second scenario, those feelings may never fade but therapy is recommended regardless, because those issues can have all sorts of negative effects in all aspects of life.

in men, bisexuality is not mere curiosity. heterosexual males have a very strong aversion to other naked males, particularly those with erections or engaging in sexual activity with other males. their brains and bodies respond as if they are in danger. i've never heard of a straight bloke "turning" bi or gay, because of this hard-wired aversion.

homosexuality is much more common than bisexuality in men. in some cases, gay men would prefer to be thought of as bisexual, perhaps because their family, friends, or co-workers are more discriminatory toward homosexuals. it takes a very brave person to admit to being homosexual and many would prefer to "come out" in baby steps or not at all. there are genuinely bisexual men, but this again usually due to some form of earlier abuse. often times people are attracted to the thing that they feared growing up. so if a boy is abused by an adult male, he may develop bisexual tendencies.

homosexuality can be caused in this manner (abuse), but it is more often biologically based than psychologically based (meaning no amount of counseling, or thinking about changing, etc will result in the homosexual individual becoming heterosexual). male hormones are essentially the same between homosexuals and heterosexuals, but the sexually dimorphic parts of the male homosexual brain is more similar to the female counterparts than those in the heterosexual male brain. something causes the brain to get wired differently at a very young age.

i've also noticed that a lot of young people develop a strong admiration for an adult figure in their lives, such as a teacher or sport coach. whether the person is of the same sex or the opposite sex, the young individual might interpret their feelings as sexual love. usually they'll grow out of these "puppy love" feelings, but they feel very intense and real at the time. there is no harm in these little crushes, but if it becomes a relationship, bad things will happen. the adult will encounter all sorts of legal issues, while the adolescent may persist in seeking out other harmful or just unconventional relationships (the same thing as can happen with sexual abuse). in other words, if the relationship was of a homosexual nature, the young person may continue to find same-sex partners or switch between opposite- and same-sex partners.

hope this made sense.....

Sexuality is something that deals with the mindset. I do not know if anyone can be sure why others are homosexual, bisexual, or why the majority of the population is heterosexual. This is something that, in my opinion, cannot be explained under most circumstances. However, there are events that can change a persons sexuality. ex: if a woman is raped, she may decide that she is no longer attracted to men, due to the violent action that she was forced to endure. Therefore, she may "become" homosexual.

I don't know if we "turn" bi or if we just are.

You just get the feeling that some guys and some girls are really hot and turn you on. I tried to turn it off for too long to not realise that thats who I am.

Most don't turn bi they were all along but kept it to themselves. It is your genetic makeup that determines your preferences.

because both genders are hot/attractive? i don't think there's a real reason for it. Why do people turn vegetarian?

Why do you care what's going on with other people. You must want to try it.
