Will they be there in October?

Yep, but I think they'll win it all next year. What's the difference this year? Pitching and Jim Leyland.
Look at their starting pitching: Rogers, Bonderman, Verlander, Robinson, and Maroth, who is injured.
Add to that Joel Zumaya (Hope I spelled his name right) who is on the rise and another waiting down on the farm--Humberto Sanchez and it's all good.
Magglio's hitting and Pudge is coming alive. Shelton's breaking out of his slumb. Placido sets the table. Inge is gutsy and Granderson's having a great year.
There ya go.

They have a chance, but I think they wil slip out this season and be a huge favorite for next season.

They have a decent offense, but nothing overly amazing. There are a couple of free swingers who show signs of a second-half slump (Granderson and Shelton come to mind). And Pudge has been fighting health problems for much of the season - losing his consistency will be a blow to the team. Pitching-wise, they are young (outside of K. Rodgers) and have shown talent. For me, I'm always curious how young/inexperienced starters will do late in the long MLB season - something to keep an eye on. And how long before Todd Jones finally loses his role as the closer - a 7 ERA with low Ks screams of blown save after blown save. At that point, will Rodney be able to hold the fort down like he did earlier in the season?

They'll make a go of the playoffs, but they will most likely fall short this year. The White Sox are back on track, and the AL East is going to produce a couple teams fighting for the Wild Card. My team to watch out for is the Twins - they are really starting to find their groove right now, and could be much like the Astros of last season.

The answer is yes! Every 10 years or so, the Tigers pop their heads up. They've built a nice offensive team & a great young, talented pitching staff. With a veteran like Rogers bolstering the staff, Bonderman & Verlander & Maroth & Robertson should thrive.

To quote a person before me:

"No, Look at their record against Chicago, New York and Boston. Not good. "

True.

But then explain to me why The Tigers STILL have THEE Best Record in MLB?

They 1-5 against The White Sox, but are 2 games in fornt of them? What does that say about the white sox?????

Yes, they are for real.

And a force to be reckoned with.

Yes they are. You can't be but real this late in the season. I know there is a lot left in the season but the AL Central is pretty sad this year and so is the AL West which will help the TIgers this year.

Yeah, the Tigers are for real because they've got great depth. As of last night they had seven players with nine plus home runs. Also, their bullpen is great, especially with Joel Zumaya pitching in speeds of triple digits. Jim Leyland isn't that bad either.

I really do think they can do it but I just hope they stay healthy because that could really ruin them. They are kinda doing what the Kansas City Royals did in 2003, where everyone thought they had won the AL Central. Then injuries took over the team and that was the end of that so I hope they can avoid those injuries and it should be good.I am really rooting for them!

Oh yeah, only the hitting needs to be a little more consistent. The pitching is there, except that Rodney needs to be the closer not Jones. Has anyone ever lead the league in saves and blown saves?

Are you kidding. There are not for real. They are pretty much a lock to Win the pennant. That's is gonna be one special team.
They "ARE" what the cubs attempted to be a few years back.

Oh yeah. Im not even from Detroit.

They have a shot at the wild card, but they won't win the division. They have beaten their division rival White Sox only once this year. That is not a good sign.
