1) if you are going to leave do not leave without having another job lined up. Nothing worse then being unemployed in a horrible job market.
2) If you have a better job lined up, ask your boss about the raise and the promises at a convenient but not in public time. Do not cause a big scene and storm out or anything silly like that, as you probably know. You never know who you might need a reference from in the future, or for that matter may be asking for a job from 5-10 years down the road.

I had similar from my boss and I just resigned, fortunately I had worked at the company 4yrs and was put onto Garden leave, so I still get paid my notice period without having to work :)
Hand in your notice and walk! Its not worth getting down about, other jobs will turn up. Just ensure you have a revenue stream to support yourself for at least 3 months or a new job to go into.
If you dont have either, start putting aside as much of your wage as you can each month into a high savings account to give yourself a buffer and then just smile your way through the day until you have enough money saved up!

when i was reading you statement, i almost thought you have my old job, i just got fired from.
i had those promises and nothing happened, they started to hire more people, had me train them, then i was canned.
they would come up with all kinds of excuses to take my responsibility away from me, one piece at a time.
none of the promises were kept, then when they fired me, they lied about why i got fired, then they tried to lie to the unemployment agency about the way i was fired, they told them a whole different story.
my advise, i would quit, before they fire you, being fired don't look good on your resume, and if they fire you, and they don't follow the law, they will tell your prospective employer a lie about you and you will not get the job. that is what is happening to me right now.
and i also took a large pay cut to have the job. and now i am making less money on the unemployment benefits. you were looking for that job when you found it, you can find another job, like i said it is easier to find a job when you don't have that being fired on you resume.
i would start looking and if you find something else, give them a two week notice. so they can replace you. leave with a good rapport with them
good luck

Satisfaction and happiness are 2 different thinggs, and i think you must be enjoying your job when u have both of these. try to talk to boss, otherwise paper work is more better. write down your problem in the paper and forward to your boss, in the meantime search for some better place to go for a job. Your boss give some flexibility to you if you can give flexibility in time.
Your career is not stopped at your current job, you have the chance and you have the right to go ahead if you are not satisfied with your current job.

how long have you been at the company, did you specify a time frame for you to get your bonus, I would say you meet with you boss set up a workable timetable for both of you and try best to achieve these goals. If after the time frame he is still messing you around then he is taking the mickey and you should leave your job and start looking elsewhere

Yo, I would start looking around for another better paid job and if go for interviews etc. If you get the job you can go to your boss and hand your notice in telling him you are only leaving due to the poor money and no payrise etc but that you enjoy working there. He may then give you your payrise. If he gives you more promises etc, I would leave as it could go on forever and you gotta look after yourself.
Good luck x

Get the hell out of there! There are few things that are worse than being under appreciated and abused, at work. From the sounds of it, they want you to do more for less. Well, nothing is for free.
If they want more from you, they have to compensate you. They can't have it both ways. Do your self a favour and leave. However, be smart; don't leave until you have found a replacement job. Keep your chin up and good luck.

My guess is that your boss will continue to take advantage of the situation. Find something else and tell him honestly why you're leaving. Use logic, not emotion.
He will probably try to get a rise out of you, say bad things about you, and then find somebody else to do the same thing to when you're gone.
Good luck!

go and talk with your boss, and say that you are not happy, and you feel that this will reflect in your work, say if that the situation doesn't change, then you are seriously considering another job, no boss, wants thier staff work output to fall, im sure he'll listen, if he doesn't, then leave, but make sure you have found a job before leaving

Resign. Leave. Move on. Its only a job. There are thousands of jobs.
Life is too short to be doing a job for 8 hours a day that you are not happy with.
We work to live, not live to work.

I guess you should look for a new better job first before leaving the company so that you will have a fall back position. Looking for jobs nowadays is sometimes pretty hard.
