Lost computer voice! How to get it back??? Windows XP Home edition.

That's easy. All you have to do is make sure your Sound options are set. Go to the Control Panel and choose Sounds. You want to change the Event Sounds. See first link below. To make a change to the sound for an event, select the event in the Sounds Dialog box, then click on "Browse". This will open a file-search dialog allowing you to locate the file. Select the C: drive and look in your "Program Files" folder for the e-Speaking program folder (if you have installed e-Speaking). Then open the Sounds folder.

You can download various sounds for different events through the Internet. (see second link below)

The sounds are stored as WAV files on your computer. To update an even't sound, all you have to do is point the computer to the location of the appropriate sound.

Go to control panel and check all of your settings there. There are several areas that will have start up music or appearance. If it is only affecting your Internet server such as AOL going in to your AOL settings and check to be sure that start up and shut down indicators are checked.

Go into your aol instant messanger and click on setting then turn it back on!

Re-Install AOL.. simple.

Go through all ypur system options and set them to "your" and i repeat "your" preferences. this usually fixes the problems and makes the comp more usable for you
