Again my baby is 23 days old. What is the best position for him to sleep? If so, what is wrong with the other positions? What about if he is on his back, with his head turned to the side? Or with is pelvis facing up, with is upper body turned to one side?...lol, The baby has done all of those...and more, I have this with foam thing that will hold him in a position so i need to know what is the best, safest way. Thanks for your help...again.

The only acceptable position for a baby until they start rolling over is on the back. Sleeping on the stomach *doubles* baby's risk of dying in his sleep of SIDS. For most babies, stomach sleeping also increases the risk of suffocation (which is an entirely *different* thing). If your baby sleeps in a crib/cot, the mattress is waterproof. If he *did* vomit, he'd be more likely to drown it in on his stomach than he ever would on his back!! When he can roll over by himself, you can let him sleep in any position he chooses; until then, it's back only!!

He should be put to sleep his back on a firm mattress with no toys, pillows or "foam things" in the crib.
Your baby can turn his own head to be comfortable Since the "back to sleep" campaign was launched, the incidence of SIDS, or crib/cot death, has fallen by more than 50%.

All the experts will recommend that your baby sleep on his back. (unless there is a medical condition that your doctor instructs you to position him otherwise)He can suffocate on his tummy or even on his side because he will not have the strength to move his head so he can breathe and get proper ventilation. If he tends to roll over on his side, I would ask the doctor if it's okay to use a sleep positioner. (the foam thing)

at 23 days I bet the umblicus is long healed. We are told the baby position is the sleeping on the belly. The best for you to consider however is to always turn your baby every so often. a mature baby will also show signs of exhaustion after sleeping on one side for some time and this is the time that you are supposed to turn your baby. please devote your time to care for that precious gift.

If you want to put your baby to sleep in 20 seconds you must get the "Instant Baby Sleep" MP3 sound track. Here is their official web-site: http://www.instantbabysleep.net
The sound track gently produces energy over the full human hearing spectrum with an embedded pulse that gently eases the brain to the Alpha state well known for drowsiness and sleep induction.

The best way for a baby to sleep is on it's back. It is said that if baby's sleep on their tummies they are at a higher risk for SIDS; and babies that are use to sleeping on their stomachs are 18 times more likely to die of SIDS. As long as they are on their back or side they are okay. I would just try to prevent the baby from sleeping on his stomach.

They should sleep on the back, if at all possible. Otherwise, use the foam thing to support the baby on their side.

I know that the stomache is the safest because if he sleeps on his back he could vomit and drown in it. The other ways you mention i think arent safe because he could probably turn over through out the night to be facing up.

put your baby on his side if you can......not on a flat back incase he spews in the middle of the night he could choke (not trying to scare you) and not on his stomach he could sufficate himself....my son is 14 months now and he slept on his side from when he was first born up until about 7 months when he learnt how to roll fully over, now i usually find him asleeo with him on his stomach but knees up and head turned to the side.....your baby will sleep how he is comfy but for the moment you should try to keep him on his side as much as possible while he is sleeping.

i have a 19month old i think everything is ok as long as the baby is always on their back. I was told to arch a blanket along her back so her head would take shape. it was a little unshaped. Also dont be afraid to call your doctor if you have questions.
