I always have problems with my browsers. If I am using internet explorer, after a while of using it, it gives me an "internet Explorer has encountered an Error " message and has to close. I get the same thing with Firefox as well, it gives me an error and automatically closes all browser windows. Does anyone know what the reason is? Or any other browsers that don't have this issue? Should I try using Netscape?

Try using Opera

It sounds to me like there is either a virus/worm on your computer, or there is a problem with the operating system. If you still can't get it to work, ensure you have the windows cd, put it in the cd drive, go to start>run . type "sfc /scannow" (without the quotes). This will replace all important windows files with the origionals, but it is not a reinstall, so you will not have to worry about any problems with programs. I'm not sure what to say if none of those work, except scan for viruses with either AVG free or Avast! anti-virus programs (both are free).

Good Luck!

You know once i put a pc back together and had some ram mixed up. For some reason everytime i would open IE, it would crash. I took all the ram out, put it back in, with some extra, and never had a problem after it.

I doubt that is your problem though. Do you use XP? if not i would advise switching to it, or maybe Windows 2000 (Not Windows ME).

You could always try Opera Web browser and see if does the same.

Hi This is Nirmal from Microsoft,

Before getting to conclusion or switching browser, identify the issue, and the exact error message with mode code and other information is very important. Also, system/environment is equally important. From system/environment I mean Operating System, Service Pack, Anti-virus, and so on..

There may be various issues for this very common error message. Lets try these couple of steps:
Try restarting computer in "Safe mode with Networking" (if you have DSL connection) and check whether you have same issue with IE, if not there is some third party software that is conflicting,

Then restart computer in clean boot and figure it out which software is conflicting. After recognizing the correct software that is conflicting, try to resolve the issue with that particular software.

Also, I may be too vague as I used many technical terms, so if you have any question about "How to ... ". please shoot me a mail.. I will be glad to reply..

In case that did not resolve the issue, please reply, so that next level of troubleshooting can be performed.
If you have any other question, please feel free to contact me, or if I have given any wrong or not appropriate information, please feel free to post a feedback at my email address, that will really help me.

Thanks and regards,
Nirmal

I would first delete your cookies. try and see if the problem persist. If it does, I would do a full system virus scan, could be a virus issue. If there are no virus I would check your network settings and internet connection, if you are getting disconnects a lot then you would be kicked out of your browser with errors. If all else fails I would try to update your browsers via www.microsoft.com or www.mozilla.com, could be known issues with outdated browser.
