No
Iran played Perfectly Well , Kept On Defending And Thier Goalkeeper was Superb , But only Defending And No attacking Caused Them A Lot As Deco Scored A Stunner , Tension Rose As Penalty Was Given To Portugal and there Frustration was Seen
Iran Should Have Kept Calm Like Australia Did Against Japan.

regardless of some the interesting answers, those of which that have nothing to do with football, Portugal were the better team on the day.

Iran were playing in a much more defensive formation and didn't menace as much as they would had they been more attacking with their tactics.

Portugal were/are still trying to get their legs underneath themselves and aren't playing the best that they can. Even that being said, Iran couldn't do the job.

Officials did fairly well, and go most of the calls, so in the end I do beleive the better team definitely won.

I don't think your question is stated in a fair manner.
A better question is why did Iran lose to Portugal?

Portugal had a better team and played better than Iran and THAT is the reason why Iran lost.

Portugal faced a tough game against Iran. Iran, like all the smaller club, struggle in the last 3rd scoring. To progress they will need to learn how to be more offensive.

what do you mean deserved? they obviously werent going to win. Portugal is far superior for starters. second of all, Iran is just awful. third, even if they won (along with all the other mediocre or even semi-good teams) it wouldnt matter because they would be eliminated next week in the next round.

also why do you say deserve to lose? no nobody deserves to lose. they played and lost because they werent as good. nobody deserved to win or lose. its not like Portugal cheated.

you can't say which team is deserved to lose..lol. I believe they had tried very hard to earn goals, so, even if they didnt win, it doesnt mean that they did not try their best. Anyway, luck counts, too. There was once or twice i can't remember, the iran team nearly score a goal :)

Anyway, viva la Portugal!!! :):)

Yes a thousand times. They had only a few chances to score while Portugal had a lot of chances.

No, to get the answer watch the first half again. They put up a great fight but a brilliant effort by Deco silenced their beaming determination.Ronaldo's play making abilities made them a bit more defensive when the need was to be a bit more aggressive. But ,i liked the team's performance overall.

C. Ronaldo was unstoppable he made 3 Iran players each get a yellow card. They wouldn't be able to win.
