That is a very complicated question, that requires a whole lot more space and time then is available here. You might see if your library has the Blue Planet series of DVD's- there's a couple really interesting ones about the seas, and the climates of the sea I believe is there- at some of it.

You do know that there's more then one sea and therefore more then one climate- like on land there's different climates, you've probably experienced those if you've ever done any traveling at all. You've certainly seen different climates in TV shows you've watched. You don't have to travel all that far to see a different climate on land. It's the same in the seas.

Climates of the oceans? Oceans do not have climates.

While climates on land are effected by the ocean, the ocean itelf does not have a climate. this is because the oceans currents are contantly shifting and changing due to seasons and other issues (such as the el'nino/el'nina effect).

Oceans however do have temperatures in different areas.

In the southern hemisphere:
Warm Ocean currents travel south on the eastern side of continents
Cold Ocean currents travel north on the western side of continents

In the northern hemisphere:
Cold Ocean currents travel south on the eastern side of continents.
Warm ocean currents travel north on the west side of the continent.

The only exception is Western Australia which has an odd exception due to a reef off the coast and actually has a warm southern direction between the continent and the cold northern current. (there is actually 2 currents off the coast of Western Australia)
