I'm trying to see what people perceive as more important. By the way, IT is Bachelors of Science degree.

So here's the difference (as per my academic advisor):

Bachelors of Science - More mathematic/analytical required econ classes. Downside is my semesters would be filled to the max and I'd be taking 5-6 classes per semester (3 semesters left).

Bachelors of Arts - A little less demanding then the BS as far as the econ courses go, so I have the option to plug in a minor in some business field if I wanted to.

What would you rather do?

What do you think is more important to an employer:

BS Information Technology
BS Economics

or

BS Information Technology
BA Economics
Minor - Business Law or Logistics (or something business related)?

Thanks

I plan on going to business school after a couple years of work experience. In case that factors in to any responses.

You'll be quite marketable, either way.

The double-BS will probably have more classes in common, so you may still be able to squeeze in some business courses (I'd recommend a minor in Finance, actually). You won't really need many business courses with that background unless you want to go into management, and the MBA will take care of that.

The newest trend in MBA school is to take people WITHOUT a business background, especially in the top schools. You're right to go to work for a few years first, though, since your MBA will require a level of pay that's worth more than your experience.

Definitely squeeze in the minor, even if it takes an extra semester. Will you be able to study overseas at all? An internship in a financial hub like London, Frankfort, Tokyo or Hong Kong will land you easily in one of the Fortune 100 MNCs.

I choose that only because of the minor in a business related field.
