Yes but you won't be losing the weight you are targeting. You will lose muscle mass also. That is what you want to keep. What you want to lose is fat. If you starve yourself like that your metabolism will slow down to protect your body and hold on to the fat you have. To lose the fat you want to stimulate your metabolism. You need to eat small meals throughout the day and exercise. Exercise is a magic bullet for stimulating your metabolism. Go to a site like ediets.com for a personalized program. Losing weight healthily is easier and more pleasurable than a water fast.

If you still eat food, but drink only water, you may lose some weight. It depends on what you eat.
If you just drink water & don't eat anything for 40 days, you will die before the 40 days is up. Guaranteed.

You will lose weight, muscle tone, bone mass, hair, eyesight, etc.

You may throw off so many toxins that you will feel very ill. It's possible but you must deal with the toxins that will be flushed out and that means colonics would be in order.

Also, it will be important to get vitamins/minerals/essential oils daily to replace what you are flushing out. The essential oils help to keep your skin tight so it won't sag as much. Electrolyte balance is also a consideration. Only way to do this really well is with a doctor's supervision - get your blood tested for liver and kidney function and electrolytes weekly or more. That's what I would do.

The more water you drink the better(to a certain extent of course) 80oz a day is a good start. Now, combine that with exercise and stay away from sodium, unsaturated fat, and excessive sucrose, and you'll be well on your way to losing the weight quickly and safely.

Yes, but then (or sooner) you may just die, or slip into some sort of malnurishment-induced coma. Be careful, I think I've also heard of a thing called water poisoning, where you drink too much water and thin out your blood...I'm not too sure about that though.

Yes, but don't exercise during that time. When you exercise on an empty stomach, it will damage your heart and the muscles you use, since you have no food as energy and you're just using nothing.
