I got beat up in 2nd grade. I decided that I would never have that happen again. Learned how to fight, became school bully and protector, have never let anyone bully me since. But, remembering how I felt, have done my best not to pick on those who wish to be left alone, or stand up for them if needed. This has gained me some of my best friends.

When I was four I saw a horrible car accident. The injured man kept screaming and asking God not to take his legs, but they were already gone. I would not play or go outside because I was afraid to get hurt. when ever I went out I always asked God to let me come home with my legs and arms. When I started driving I was terrified. any bump or sound that the car made I thought i hit someone. I have never complained about how I look. I am grateful everyday that I am a whole person.

Near death experience. It pretty much changed my life drastically and still continues to change me. The months after it happened pretty much shocked me and I had to really adjust to living again (I felt I was still dead for a while).
I started seeing life from this death perspective. It makes me see how some people are truly happy and live life without fear, but others are afraid and not accepting of life. I feel I get this insight to people I didn't have before. Not knowing what they think, but on a more spiritual sense where they may be headed.

The death of my mother when I was 16 months old and my father going to prison at the same time. I like who I became, but believe I would have been someone else totally if I'd been raised by either one or both of them.

Bus accident in 1980 when I was in the Air Force broke my neck at C-2 level (the hangman's fracture) and I survived and was not paralyzed at all. This has shaped everything since.
