So who's to say someone is not looking at our sun from another galaxy and seeing something (perhaps our planet at this very moment) that is no longer there. What I mean by this is that it's possible we do not exist at this very moment but are in fact in another dimension. What do you think of that?

I think you think too much.

I think you are making this a bit too complex. If someone was at this moment looking at this planet from another sun, then they would be seeing what happened in the past a bit like an intergalactic video recorder. It has no bearing on our own existence.

Actually, I think that's a good question. The answer (as far as I can tell) is that right now, a person looking at us from another galaxy is seeing our sun as it was in the *past*, when it certainly *did* exist (for the same reason that we see far galaxies as *they* were in the past, as you noticed.) So it all does make sense.

but we can see each other so at this moment we do exist. but if we could not then the people from another galixy could be seeing us when we are non existant.

Did I understand your question correctly?

it is very interesting though.

It could be. I've often though that the Earth could be a star that someone else is looking up at right now.

By the time our light reaches them we might not be here, but we are here now and our present light hasn't reached them yet. They are seeing our past, and not our present. Interesting question. I'll think about it in more detail.
