so i have been reading questions and answers but it seem that people r giving two answers. so if any one really knows the answer for sure please tell me. ok so i know that when you ovulate your cervix is supposed to be high and soft. and after i assume it gets hard and low. now say once the egg implants itself does your cervix stay hard and low or does it get soft and high again. or does it just depend on the person. just wondering cause my period is due in a few days and cervix feels pretty hard. also what would my discharge be like if in fact i was pregnant

Instead of playing guessing games like this to wonder if you are pregnant or not I suggest a $5 pregnancy test you can find at the store. This cervix high or low is like the old wives tale about if the baby rides high its a boy and low is a girl.

If you can't afford the $5 or are dying to know results early than that, go see your OBGYN or family doctor and have them do a blood test.

Good luck,

m

(Speaking from experience) I'm not sure how the cervix normally is during and after ovulation, never payed much attention to that. During pregnancy however, the cervix does get thicker and longer to support the fetus. When you go into labor, the cervix starts thinning and getting shorter (effacing) and dilating (opening getting bigger).

As far as discharge, it should be a whitish color.

Your cervix only becomes soft when you are fertile. Once you are past your fertile time of the month...it hardens and stays that way until you are fertile again.
