So you know each other for 2 years..I think it a quite a bit of time in which you might have known each other.

It is very natural that best buddies often think of next higher level. You also told that he openly confessed he likes you.Now make sure that you also have the same feeling before you go ahead because you said 'I think I like my friend'. Make sure that "I think I like my friend" becomes "I like my friend".

It is wonderful to be in relationship with someone you know for a long time.

All the best!

I was in the same situation except that we knew each other for 7 years and we really regretted not getting together and I don't want you to feel the same way. Do something before it's too late!! What's better than going out with your best friend? If it doesn't work out, which is most likely what you are worried about, you were friends since the beginning so you will probably always be friends. Usually if you don't stay friends with someone after you break up with them it's because you were never friends in the first place. Good luck and I hope it goes well!!

It depends that is a touchy subject... if you get along great and can make it through alot fine..try it TAKE IT SLOW!, deffinately don't rush things just b/c you are friends!

If you think there may be any issues espically when looking at his track record(you are his friend , you do know it), you don;t want to hurt eachother and A.) wreck the friendship, and B.) end a good relationship over things that normally wouldnt do anything to other couples like fights
(such as other friends, ex's..... stuff like that)

In all reality I think you should just go with what happens, don't analyze everthing.... If you two are ment to get together you will one way or another! If not..then you wont risk a friend either.

I'm (was) "the best friend". We got involved, and did very wild things. But, just we can connect at that level. We broke up, bu still, I'm her best fried (or that what she tells). So, I thinks it is better to be sorry for something done that for something not done. And, if your friendship is true, It must survive any romantic involvement. Just be true to yourselves. And talk with each other in order to know where is each of you. Good luck

Well, you certainly chose your web name right!

Honey, what's all this about "like" and "best friend" and everything? You sound like someone who is crossing that line between playground and playing around. The line between childhood and teenage. You have had a friend for two years, and didn't like each other? Or you knew each other, but now you like each other?

I suppose if I try hard enough, I can remember what this was all about. I remember saying something similar, in fact; "Well, of course I've always liked him he's my friend. But now I realize I LIKE him, you know? I mean, like really like him, you know?"

Anything to avoid the word "love," eh?
