None that have applied for the job really. I can't remember any woman even getting to primaries. That is not to say though that a woman couldn't do it. She just needs to be the better person for the job.

Actually that is not completely true, ok so far no Woman was ever an actual President but 1 Woman was an Acting President of The United States.
When Woodrow Wilson had a Stroke it happened in a Time period when someone other than the Vice President could be acting President.
1st Lady Edith Wilson with Congressional approval was de facto President of The United States in the last 16 Months of Woodrow Wilson's term of office (he still signed and veteod bills with his Wife bringing the Documents to him but Edith carried out the rest of the Presidential duties in her Husband's last 16 Months as President).
Yes we did have a de facto Female President in The United States before and it was Edith Wilson.

Because even though we live in the 21 century we are still way behind the times. This is a very sexist society. Men are the ones who still make more money than women even if they have comparable education and experience. Most CEO's are men and the same for our government officials. We have come a long way but the last 5 years shows that there are many people who do not want to live in the 21st century with the rest of us. Look at how the right for women to make decisions over their reproductive lives is being taken from them. Pharmacists are allowed to deny filling prescriptions for brith control. Women are being told that they are wrong for wanting to have a career and putting off children or not having them at all. The majority of people who feel this way is men. This is really a scary thing when you think about it. There are far more women than men so if we all united.....they better look out!!!!

The time is coming, once women voters decide to vote for a woman. Figure it out, 1/2 the men would vote for the 'best' candidate, and if it were a woman, then she'd have a chance, then if all women voted for her too, well, it's a shoe in. So far no woman has had the support necessary to get that far. Hillary is close, but I doubt she'll get that far, because she's so far left, but we'll see. I think a woman of Oprah's stanima and intelligence would make it, but Oprah herself would be accused of so many 'publicity stunts' or 'popularity contest' stuff, she'd be scrutinized out by the media, but I mean someone like her would have a chance in my opinion. Considering it was big news that Katie Couric is the first female news anchor, I'd say we have a long way to go before we have a woman president.
Freedom and equal opportunity are unproven ideas. They are great in concept but have never been executed. Not even in America where we are raised to believe we are free.

No woman has really been outstanding in the political field. Segregation on the gender level is still present. Men are still thought to dominate the political field. Any number of reasons, really. America isn't really a country that likes to break through social barriers. Well...at least it doesn't like to be the first country to do so.

Actually, there have been female rulers before like Queen Elizabeth, Cleopatra and many female prime ministers and such throughout the world. This is an American phenomenon closely tied to our patriarchal culture descending from our pilgram forefathers.
