I haven't heard anything about a MySpace for kids... but there is a company called Industrious Kid creating a product similar to MySpace targeted towards parents and kids who want a safer alternative to MySpace.

The service is called Imbee (https://www.imbee.com/) and a write-up on it can be found at TechCrunch (listed below). Hope that answers your question.

I have a myspace and it depends on the age of your kids and how responsible they are. Also if you let them get one you need to have their passwords so you can see whats being said to them, who they are talking to, and what they are saying about themselves. I've seen young girls put their self out there in a bad way. Kids younger then 16 shouldn't have one. One more thing on the profiles people can make themself be any age , sex, or whatever they want to.mine says I'm 100 years old. I'm 40.

My kids are on it.

Who's to say if it's safer, useless you can see who people are in person, they can say their only 14 but really are 30.
