Just got into Yahoo Answers and really like it but as usual, it is inundated with relentelessly negative answers from liberals/democrats. Considereing the the Dems lost the last two elections, it seems to me they have learned nothing and are about to lose a third.

As for me, I supported Clinto during his term and our current President during his. I don't hold any particular allegiance to either party. For Both Clinton and Bush, I felt that they were the right leaders for their time. I believe there should be a constant hand-off of power with dems and republicans alternating, so I want (for lack of a better word) the Dems to wins in 2008, but I think they've blown it.

They have become relentlessly negative without giving positive alternatives. Alright, we get it Bush is the devil and every decision he made was wrong, but give us your alternative take on how you would run the world. Muslim extremists do not respond to negotiation- I want real answers.

PS...Please, no bilgewater about Republicans stealing elections. There was no controversy about the 2004 election. Exit polls and dozens of random polls matched the voters choice. This is what I'm talking about, how Dems ruin their party with stupid conspriacy theories instead of giving real asnwers to real problems. Remember Roosevelt and Kennedy? Give me Dems like that.

cantcu- give me some answers, not just Bush-bashing. What are the Dems offering? What are their solutions? The economy is doing great, so the Dems don't have that (there usual ticket into office) to rely on.

DEMOCRATS- You guys are killing men, man. Conspiracy theories and Bush-bashing. Give me a solid plan on how you're going to capture Osama, de-arm Iran and North Korea, strengthen the borders.

Goddamn, this is just sad. More conspiracy theories. BTW, I voted in one of the worst neighborhoods (when I moved here I crashed with a buddy, so my voting center was in his neighborhood). When I walked in and saw that the place was nearly empty, I knew the Dems. had lost.

You hit the nail on the head.

The problem with Democrats is that they have no cohesive strategy. The more liberal the democrat, the more true that statement is. On the far left, you have Michael Moore and Cindy Sheehan who offer nothing positive to the politcal debate. They are cynics, who don't realize they are just playing a zero sum game.

Here are the brilliant words of Stephen Colbert, someone ALL you liberal readers will know. He hosts his own show on Comedy Central. This is what Stephen said about cynicism at a graduation ceremony at Knox College:

"people who pretend to be wise to the ways of the world are mostly just cynics. Cynicism masquerades as wisdom, but it is the farthest thing from it. Because cynics don't learn anything. Because cynicism is a self-imposed blindness, a rejection of the world because we are afraid it will hurt us or disappoint us.

Cynics always say no. But saying "yes" begins things. Saying "yes" is how things grow. Saying "yes" leads to knowledge. "Yes" is for young people. So, for as long as you have the strength to, say 'yes'."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
See his point? I apply it to liberal democrats. They are just negative about everything, playing that same old zero sum game. They don't think the No Child Left Behind Act is good, but they've never come up with anything better. They don't like the progress on the war in Iraq, but they don't pay attention to the real progress being made. It just goes on and on.

Liberals: you want to win an election? Come up with some ideas! Don't just idly whine like some old, bitter granny rocking on her deteriorating front porch.

Come up with some real plans for combatting global warming. Tackle the nightmarish situation that is our public school system. Figure out a way for the U.S. to come up with alternative energy sources. Do something other than criticize Bush............ who is actually DOING something.

It's not the Democrats, it's the Extreme Left Wing Democrats that are always bashing everything the administration does soley for political gain. People can see right through that. Many Democrats actually voted to keep troops in Iraq. As for the republicans, I wish they would return to their small government roots. I wish the American people would stop trying to be a bunch of make-shift politicians as well. If the republicans can work with the democrats to enact the Fair Tax, things could go either way for either party. Fair Tax is something both the conservative citizens and the democratic party have wanted for a long time.

They've blown it!!

You listening to Ann Coulter again?

Almost all presidents get a second term, except Bush's daddy and a few others.

With the deficit. military coming home daily in body bags for the last 3 years, Bush's tax cuts for the rich, cutting most domestic programs, his assault on the Constitution and privacy rights, and Bush's numbers along with all the Republican leadership who have had to resign, I don't agree!!

Repubs have little chance, especially if Bush is correct. He said the troops would not be out until at least 2009. Easy for him to say as he won't be president. America is not going to tolerate another 2 years of war expenses and body bags! Half of Bush's presidency we have been at war, and when he goes it will be 75%!!!

And don't count on Florida's 25 either!

To be honest with you
in 2000 the will of the people in the united states was suppressed. Even though the popular vote doesn't count, it does tell you the majority of the country in numbers chose correctly.

In 2004 again I believe the country chose right by the Dems. and again the person who counts votes is also the leader of the oppositions campaign

2008 we won't blow it, it is just getting them to count the votes.

Dems offer accountabitly, the Repugs control the executive, judicial and legilative, this is dangerous.
The president has gotton a free ride, in congress.

Dems will investigate war profiteering, will investiget the outing of Valery Plame,
will bring to justice the treason. Will bring to justice the person responsible for warrentless wire taps and torture.

Dems will stop this riducluous deficit spending.
Will engage real diplomacy to Korea and Iran.

Will address the issues of working families.....
and for one thing unlike this administration
will not cut benits to soliders.........and still claim to support the troops.

Interesting... I agree that the Democrats will blow 2008 simply because Hillary is a left-wing nutjob. McCain is going to be the next President of the US, in my honest opinion. I'd say the problem with Democrats right now is that they don't have any appealing leaders, they are a fractured party, and they lack a sound agenda (other than blaming conservative policy/Bush-bashing).

Cause the Democrats don't know how to Win anymore and they have made hating Bush into their Religion instead of focusing on what they can do for America.

Heck the Liberal party lost in Canada cause even some War opponents in Canada got sick of the Liberals focusing more on hating America rather than focusing on what they can do for Canada.

It bothers me when people say that the Dems are not offering alternatives.

We've been offering thousands of "alternatives".

They fall on deaf ears.

They are not the "alternatives" that the administration or Fox News (one in the same) want to hear about - exit strategies, social betterment programs, gay rights, realignment with the UN, and signing the Kyoto...

Which alternative are you failing to see?
