I am American but have expierenced life overseas and compared to the foods of Japan, China, Singapore, Korea, France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Ghana, the Philliphines, Turkey, and Greece, American food is crap. That does not include soulfood. Soulfood is in a whole different league. But all the processed foods and out the box stuff taste so bland when you've experienced real cultural foods. (soulfood is cultural)

How can you make such a broad statement? I mean think about what you are saying. America encompasses an enormous area which is made up of multiple ethnicity's. Too say American food sucks is basically saying all food sucks. We have such a varied menu from the seafood of the upper east coast, beef in the Midwest , BBQ in the south, the many varied dishes of Kentucky the birth place of biscuits and gravy, the Polish dogs of Chicago, chili in Texas and Cincinnati, New York pizza, Tofu in California, just to name a few.

First what type of American food. New England seafood, Midwestern, Creole, etc. You must not have tried the different style, types or flavors often enough. Anyone can complain but taste around. I have had hard pasta in Florence, poor pastries in France and the worlds worst pizza in Spain, but I didn't stop eating I just tried the food at another restaurant or at a different friend's home.

Absolutely. American food makes British food look delicious. When I tell people what probably happened in the kitchen with their tasteless dinner, they get all defensive "it's not THAT bad." Yeah. It is. Made in advance, barely heated, raw vegetables "cooked" under a heat lamp, stuff from frozen distributors. Over salted, poorly prepared, rarely at the right temp and often, tainted with bacteria from bad food handling. I've had better meals in an unheated mountain hut with an open cistern in the room in Myanmar.

Your question and subsequent detail show your lack of education. Think back and ask yourself, "what is American?" Try and remember that America is made up of many different cultures. So this "American food" as you call it is actually descended from: French (God help us), Spanish, Mexican, Italian, Polish... etc. etc.
But to give you a simple answer to your question: no.
I happen to enjoy steak, which I believe would also be considered an American food.

I agree that there are some kinds of American food that are terrible. But generally American food is pretty good. Obviously you haven't had really great American cooking.

Every culture has food that doesn't taste good to other people. That someone takes that food as representative of all foods in that culture is narrow-minded and bigoted.

No. British food takes that distinction. And because American food is an eclectic blend of all kinds of cultures, you've got to be kidding. And if you're saying American food is Fast Food, you talking something completely different because that doesn't reflect our cuisine.

I seriously doubt you have tried all regions in America for the different food types we have..have ya?If you had..and ate at someones home for a "typical" family meal..(you have no idea what American food is or represents..) you would have to eat your own words..my,my that would be tasty ey?...=) Just where are you from anyway?I noticed you didnt claim to fame the food where your from..??Very odd...

Why ask stupid questions? You obviously don't care about anyone else's opinion, judging from all of the questions you have asked so far. You pick the "best" answer only if it agrees with your opinion, not on whether it is actually the best answer. Anyone reading this should check this person's history and see what a waste of time it would be to bother to answer these retarded questions. Also -- PLEASE use the spell checker function above,,,,,your spelling is horrible!!!!!!
