My boyfriend of 8 years and I have 2 kids together and I want us to get married but he said no because we don't get along with each other's family should we forget about that and get married anyway. Because we want get married I want to find someone else eventually because I want tio be married and not shacking.

Marry the person you trully love. If the families don't like each other, oh well. If you guys have two kids already, what say does the family have. You both deciede your lives, not others.

You should get married. He is making excuses. If a guy really wants a girl, he doesn't care about his family. You have been together too long and you have kids, so he has no real reason to marry you now. I can't imagine he will ever change his mind.

You should have discussed that before you had the first and even more so the second. What a sad life it is for the kids to have their parents argue over rather they should marry or not. Do you know the best present a man can give to his children is the love of their mother as his wife.?

wow!!! 8 years and NOT get married! my husband and my family did not get along at first but after we got married....they attempted to get along now they can talk to each other...he is very unreasonable...you are marrying each other not the family (they should just be there for support...you have INVESTED many years of your life....i know you love him but if he is not going to give you what you want ( after YOU HAVE GIVEN HIM SO MUCH) then i think you should just pull away from him.. you deserve better than that....sorry im just passionate about that =)

Doesn't sound like "he" wants to forget about that. You can forget about that all you want, but if that's his reason for not wanting to marry you then he's not going to forget about it.
Now it's up to you to decide how much you want marriage and if you want to wait around on him or do what you said and move on and find someone who will marry you.
Maybe once you are gone, he will realize what he had with you and go ahead and take that next step.

If u guys r truly in love, ur parents should get married. Just get married. You guys already hav two kids, ur parents cant say no to that.

Most divorces are mainly due to bad in-laws.... so if you want a quick divorce then get married now .. if you want to have a lasting relationship.... just wait

if you really love each other it shouldn't matter what your families think or any one else for that matter if he cant or you cant handle the disapproval then get out and move on.
