What does Emo mean? I heard someone calling my friends little brother that and someone on here said I was that. What is it?

yeah, it stems from a type of music thats supposed to be very "stream of consciousness" and emotional. which is where the name comes from.
its typically accompanied by a certain fashion too. the haircuts that are kinda hanging in your eyes, that you make sure your hair looks like you dont care how your hair looks. and when guys wear jeans that are skin tight, right down to the ankle. i work at a music store, and i know a kid who actually borrows his sisters pants.
but modern emo isnt really the same as what emo started as. its mostly rich white kids that are complaining about not being popular or not getting enough hugs as a kid.

My daughters are friends with Emo boys. They wear girls jeans, have longer hair that is usually hairsprayed in different spikey directions, wear thick belts, sometimes eyeliner etc. They listen to emotional screaming Emo music, wear black Converse, look alot like punk boys from the eighties.

Oh lord sweetie... why are you still on the computer? Look it up. Emo is a cheap imitation of goth. Kids that whine about problems they don't have to get attention. It's bordering on Histrionic Personality Disorder. Don't know what that is either... that's why you have a keyboard. And you are on Yahoo... go to the search engine and type it up. I think Misty & Bri (that's who you are talking about) mean that you're a girl who worries about not being popular or part of the "in" crowd. I would have to agree.
