YOU WOULD think that! He took lives. Murdered, commited crimes against society, sure, he reformed himself by reaching out to others, that is all good and well, But he still murdered. what if it was your father, brother, sister, mother etc...that he murdered? I'm sure you would be seeing things differently. To "set him free" would mean that his victim's lives or the live's of the victim's families had no meaning, weren't important enough etc. If Tookie were white...you would never had raised this question, would you?

I think he should have spent life in prison. he could have continued redeeming himself while posing zero threat to society. Tookie got it because he was a poor black man. Had he had money like OJ and bought himself high-priced lawyers would the result have been the same? Within weeks of Tookie's execution some white guy who committed several murders was given concurrent life sentences. If the application of the law was consistent, that would be one thing. As it is it's arbitrary and applied alot more rigourously to ethnic peoples.

Tookie Williams was a Gangsta. He knew the job was dangerous when he took it. Part of bein a gangsta includes robbing and killing. It Also includes being caught by law enforcment and paying the price. In case the price was death. He got what he deserved but it's not like he didn't know the consequences of his actions. Most gangsta know the law better than police officers. Its like going into Accounting and then crying when you have to crunch some numbers. He was supposed to be hard core so he should have took his punishment and not cried like a lil Gurl.

This animal killed 4 innocent people, one of them a 17 year old kid and then laughed about it. Sure he said he changed. He would have said anything to stay alive. When it came time he was crying like a little girl. This was the worst of the worst but he crapped in his pants like all the rest and they say execution doesn't work. Well he wont kill anyone else and they are a lot of little gangsters that will think twice

jns123 you are out cold! The man changed his life around. I feel that they should have cancelled the execution and give him life without parole. He was one of the people that started the notorious gang.
jns123 I agree that he should not have been release at all. He did(at least I believe) change his life for the better. But Damn do you have to say that the man was garbage?

I guess that goes along with the conventional wisdom of letting 12 million people break out laws and get amnesty. Next we can see we'll just set cop killers free so long as they are of the right ethnic background and all.

I think so too. I feel he really did show remorse for his actions, if not, he would not have been giving speeches, writing books, and getting nominated for peace prizes!! Da** government!
