Why is there no caring for our neighbors right here in the US but we go beyond for those in other countries?

My husband is dying and I have gone and begged and pleeded for help to get him back to his family in New York to no avail. There is not one person , organization, or group that will help me. We are poor and we need to move from Illinois to New York and my husband is on oxygen now and bed ridden , I plead for assistance , $, or anything to help to get hism there. I have even asked for an RV to transport him there, I do know it is a lot but I have no means with the cost of all the medical cost associated with his horrible disease. But yet people jump to help those in other countries.

I have gone to every organization , business, tv , radio etc. and there is not one person in this united states that will help ,me get my husband ,who is dying with cancer , on oxygen, and medications that have put us literally in the poor house. His family are all in NY and we live in IL, I have pleaded even for a beat up RV so as to get him home as comfortable as possible. But because we are nobodies on this earth and people love thier money more than thier neighbors we have recieved no hlep. I just want his last days to be the happiest they can be he deserves at least that. He has served our country, he has raised 3 children, lost one wife to cancer and his mother & father to cancer, of which he took care of in thier last days. Can anyone tell me when money started to mean more to us than the people in our lives? Our families, neighbors, pets, those we pass on the street that smile and say hello? I have even asked television shows and celebrities to help. There is not one person.

Trust me there is someone out there who can help. Do you belong to a particular church? If you do this is the best place to start. In times of need the church can always help. You may directly contact the local Baptist Association in your area. If one church can't take on the responsibility then maybe you could get help from several to cover all the costs. Contact a major news paper in your area and ask if they have a department that reviews cases and places a story in their paper explaining your dilemma and asking for donations. The paper could also be a good source of charitable organizations. If things aren't happening like you would want and you are praying and asking God to help then you may consider asking God to give you the the ability to accept the things that you can't change and for understanding. God has a greater plan and ask him to show you his way and to help you do his will. Place your problems in God's hands and let him take care of the details. God bless you and I pray that he gives you guidance and the ability to accept his will. I pray your husband finds peace and rest soon. Take care.

By the way if you read the questions and answers on this web site you will see that a lot of the people are sarcastic, selfish, non-believers who answer with quick wit rather than heart felt words. Don't give up though. Someone is out there waiting to help!

I'm sorry to here about your plight too. Have you asked his family to assist? Surely if they want to see him, as much as your hubby wants to see them, they will find a way to move him to NY? Especially given that if you cant afford to move, he will need to live with one during the time he's there anyway? OR preferably ask them to visit him, to pay their respects before he passes because he wont have the discomfort of having to move then, which may make his time on earth shorter? Those that love him enough, will come...

quit begging, that's pathetic.
you should have paid for medical insurance.
yours is a classic example of what is wrong with America, you think everyone owes you something.
people work hard so they can provide for their OWN families, not every lazy oaf lookinmg for a hand out.
If he "served his country" honorably, he is entitled to a military burial.
You got nothin' else coming.
