What is more important to you if you stayed some where that had beach front properties?

Getting a hotel with beach access and an ocean view?

Or

Getting any good hotel and walking or drive to the beach not caring about the view?

I love staying right on the beach. My favorite time to go to the beach is early morning and late night. I love to watch the sunset and sunrise on the beach. At that moment as you are just lying there watching all the beauty nature has to offer, nothing else matters.

I love to be able to open my door and be on the beach, to me that is what is important. (One thing to keep in mind though is if you have children. Most of the hotels have some sort of a safety, but in some a child could easily figure out how to get out of the door)

However, the most important thing to me is a good quality hotel that has good service and clean rooms. Price isn't really an issue.

I say go for the view of the beach. You are on vacation, you are there to see the beach, why not make the most of it.

For me, the most important thing is being right by the sea. I spend very little time in the hotel room, so basic services are fine with me. What's more important is having easy access to the beach (preferably by foot, ideally a private beach on the property). I stayed at the NH Hotel in Marbella, Spain and found that it was really poorly located, about 500 meters uphill from the beach across a busy road. Although it was four stars, I would rather stay at a two-star place right on the beach!

I've done both...Depends what What All there is to do in the Area?
If you'll be spending most of your time on the Beach, it's nice to wake up & already be there! With a Nice View, as well!

If you'll also be doing other activities, such as hiking, hitting casinos, or browsing shops, etc,...You may find a better location that is more Central to your excursions.

Then again, Price can be the deciding factor. I've stayed just 2 short blocks - walking distance - from the Beaches in Los Cabos, Mexico...Saving hundreds of Dollars!...And had a fridge & stove that Saved Even More on Food! The Beachfront is Very Expensive!..It made for a nice early morning walk to the Beach, browsing thru the Souvenier Shops on the way.

Just make sure to do some research on the place you're visiting...Some locations have very-affordable beach-front accomodations!...Some don't!...Besides the Internet - Check out some of the numerous Travel Guides for Info! ( I find the Guides especially useful - You'll find much more info. specific to Your Destination!..All in one Place. )

Have a Great Trip!

Get a good hotel and walk or drive to the beach. Although beach access directly from or overlooking the beach (aka: On) is more expensive. I know this spring in Myrtle Beach the price difference between a beach front hotel and on a little bit off was at least $50 a night.

If you can spring for beach access and ocean view, go for it! One of the nicest hotel stays was at a place called Surf & Sand Hotel at Laguna Beach. At night, the tide came up to the windows of the bar/lounge area. And it was really wonderful to stand out on the terrace of your room at night with the surf pounding right below. Just being able to fall asleep to the sound of the surf makes all the difference.

getting a hotel with beach access and a veiw the veiw isnt even necessary but having to drive to the beach and find parking then toting everything you need plus getting sand where it shouldnt be that would suck i just got back from panama city beach florida we had beach front hotel it was great spending the evenings on the balcony watching the sun go down and being able to go straight back to your room after being on the beach and get cleaned up was great it was worth the extra money in the long run

If you don't care about spending a lot of extra money, get the view. Otherwise something off the beach is generally a lot more affordable.

I spent the extra money in Maui for a ocean front hotel and I think it was well worth it. When i look back at my memories that is the only thing i remember about the place.
