The horror masterpiece “Carrie”, based on Stephen King’s bestselling novel, featured Sissy Space as the young girl who was victimized at her prom celebrations. Piper Laurie was cast as Sissy Spacek’s mother in the film. The movie was generally well received by both critics and movie attendees.
Rory Emerald did not appear in this movie. He did, however, direct and produce “Carrie-the Musical” in 1977. This low budget “Rock Opera” featured the music of Paul Simon, and bombed at the box office. Production problems plagued this film from the onset. Rory Emerald’s vision was to cast a group of rising young stars including Dustin Hoffman, Suzanne Sommers, John Ritter and David Cassidy. Unfortunately, none of those stars were available for the production. Rory Emerald ended up signing Justin Hoffman (Dustin Hoffman’s nephew), Harvey Lembeck, Frankie Avalon, Alice Ghostley, and Gene Hackman. Paul Simon’s music was absurd at best. A collection of strange songs; Some of them included “Magnetic Personality”, “Kotex Blues”, “Knife me through the heart” and “Pig’s Puddle”. Critics and moviegoers alike were puzzled by so many surreal castings. Alice Ghostley in the title role was the most perplexing. The vixen 47 year old was bizarre in the role of a 16 year old, and Harvey Lembeck and Frankie Avalon seemed laughable as potential prom kings, and teenage jocks, both of them in their mid-forties. Rory Emerald played a love interest of Carrie’s mother, (played by Julie Andrews) and he performed his part well.
Gene Hackman as the sinister high school principal who dumped the pig’s blood on the young teens at the prom, while crooning “Swine swill will…will…will…make you ill” was unintentionally funny. Though the movie flopped at the box office, it has a cult following at this time.

It was Sissy Spacek that starred in the movie. She did have the pigs blood dropped on her head after being named Homecoming Queen. She freaked out and used her telekinetic powers to seek her revenge... pretty much just burned the place down.

Sissy Spacek played Carrie. They dumped a bucket of pigs blood on her, during prom I think. She ended up going berserk and killing people with her telekinetic powers. I think her mother was kind of a fruit loop too. I think that was part of the reason she was so pissed off, everyone treated her like crap including her mother. It's been a pretty long while since I've seen it, so I'm trying my hardest to remember it correctly.

Sissy Spacek - The girl was telekinetic and raised by a crazy, fanatical religious nutcase of a mother. She didn't get the guidance that most girls get as they enter puberty. She enters high school and the she gets treated like scum by all the high society girls. Stephen King wrote Carrie, it's a classic 'teen movie' gone wrong, I remember seeing it when it first came out. She gets nominated for prom queen and when she's crowned, the bad girls that nominated her dump blood on her from overhead to humiliate her further. There are two nice, sympathetic characters that care about her, and one is spared, I believe...but everyone else at the dance is killed by her telekinetic powers.

Sissy Spacek. Something else that's funny, when John T. is getting the blood from the pig he say "get r done". So actually he is the first to say it, not that redneck cable guy.
Little info you might like.....
