You can pre-pay to have the child's first outfit and shoes bronzed/silvered/golded/platinumed,etc. This way when the child out grows the clothing, the mother already has a gift certificate to have her baby's first momento treasured as a life time keepsake and possible heirloom. I realize no one really bronzes baby stuff any more, but I always thought this was a really nice idea.

It can be put in a nice acrylic or glass keep sake box with a picture of the child as a baby in the same outfit.

Some kind of box ( like a hope chest) that things can be stored in like babies homecoming outfit, and other memorie treasures that the parents want to keep to give him when he has his own children.

Then again you could do things like:
Diapers, different sizes
Wipes
Baby Shampoo
Baby Wash
or anything else that you use alot of but do eventually need more of, or even something that the baby will need in the future, bigger sizes of clothes, socks, shoes, toys for older infants.

What she also might like would be the offer to help with the baby, offer to watch the baby sometimes so that she can pamper herself, take a nap, read or whatever she wants to do, even help with the housework, something like those coupons that come out for valentines that you give your signifacant other.

You could always crochet or knit her a baby blanket, some booties and/or a hat, or some of those little mittens that you put on a baby's hands so that they will not scratch themselves. Otherwise, check with her to see if she has a baby gift registry somewhere, or just get her a gift card to someplace that she frequently shops at. Mommy has to be pampered too! You could get her a bath spa kit or buy her a massage at a place for whenever she wants. If she is happy and relaxed, baby will be happy and healthy too.

if it were me i would get a little basket and fill it with wet wipes cotton buds. baby shampoo/ lotions / cotton buds bath foam / baby oil / and nappies and stuff like that and little mittons and bibs and socks (can get them pretty cheapput cellaphane around it (possibly blue ) and tie a big blue bow around it. it will be cute and she will guarantee to use it so it will be a very handy little gift probably cost £10-£20 pound depending how much u wanna buy some times check supermrkets can get buy 1 get 1 free ( also cheaper idea forget a basket if 2 expensive and buy a blue plastic box will come in handy again after she used all the items ) hope this helps have fun =)

I HIGHLY recommend Halo Sleepsacks. You don't have to be rich or poor to appreciate these. They are like a little blanket that is like a vest, so baby won't smother himself by getting trapped in blankets. My household income is over 220K a year, and I use these religiously. The next thing I would recommend is a portable changing pad, loaded up with wipes and diapers and ointment. I can't tell you how FILTHY public changing tables are, and these little vinyl things made by Babies R Us or First Year are awesome! Just unfold it on the table, the back of the car, the lawn or wherever you happen to be, and you have a clean surface to change baby on.

Well she'll find out you can never have to much of something with a new baby so t-shirts(oneies) are good. If she has alot like you say then get a bigger size than 0-3 months get a 6-9 cause by the end of the summer she'll need to reload for the fall. They grow sooooooooo fast!!!

YAY I easily were waiting for someone to ask this question as I were given the most proper babyshower present. I were given it variety my cousin and his fiance. My cousin gave up the ghost the week previously my babyshower and his fiance nonetheless got here so as that made the present all that a lot more effective particular. They were given a touch tubbaware and were given a garments line with pins on they end they tied a folded blanket. Then on the line they positioned a gaggle of garments like in case you've been putting laundry. So at the same time as i became pulling the string out it became in no way ending outfits. It doesn't might want to be so expensive both (inspite of the actual undeniable actuality that theirs became it became all carters outfits) even if it became outfits they in simple terms seperated it through the pins. Iike the blouse on one pin, pantsn bib, socks all on seperate pins. each body at my babyshower loved it. It took about 3 human beings to carry it because the string in simple terms save going and going I loved it. good success

A gift certificate for 6 week portraits and an engraveable silver frame is a very thoughtful shower gift.

US Savings Bond
My grandmother did this for my sister and I when we were born.

Also something I do for EVERY baby shower is that I get the mom to be a personal gift just for her: like a basket with bath & body products, a nursing bra & PJs, a "Sane" mommy basket filled with tylenol, pads, Nursing pads, Nursing gel for sore nipples, etc. Pretty much juch things for the new mom.
