Two strong super powers with equally strong economic power. Competition is good for the world's markets....economically speaking. I think the U.S. has done a very good job maintaining it's military and economic power. Imagine what other countries would do with this power. They would not be so giving, so sparing, nor friendly.

No United Nations.

I think that we learned that too much of our energy is diverted and devoted to the dreaded "what if?" or "it could happen tomorrow" doomsday scenarios. We all felt liberated when the USSR fell - we could turn our attention to other things. Government organizations and tactics and procedures quickly showed that they would not work in any other scenario - and we got blind sided by an enemy that thought outside the box we had painted ourselves into over decades.

In the single super power scenario resources are too far stretch with military needs that nothing else can get done. I mean, isn't there more to being a super world leader than policing the world?

I think the UN is the way to go. Look at the US and EU - while neither is the global solution, that extra layer of government can provide stability like nothing else. We need some talented diplomats to sit down and hammer out a global police system that works to keep international relations under control.

The citizens of this planet should not have to suffer violence and chaos because of failed diplomacy.

The UN is a joke. I don't think it matters between 1 or 2 super powers as long as there is at least 1 democratic super power.

A strong united nation is definately better... Superpowers tend to get in to everyones business and well two ... ego's start to flare and we get the "i'm bigger than you are" game which never ends well.
A united nation is better because people tend to be concerned about what there neighbor needs instead of what trouble there government is getting them into now....

How about a weak super power. Or a strong small power. Or a strong super weakness. Or... why don't you ask us a real question?
