My mom used to use moth ball to perserve the clothes she wore. She told me when you hang your clothes in the closet moths had a tendency to hide and would eat the clothes. With the moth ball, the smell doesn't even want them to go near the clothes.

Twice I used it other than the intended purpose. First time to get rid of bats in my celling, they were crawling up the wall between the bed room and kitchen in the early morn then again before dark so I made a mixture of mothballs, ammonia and old perfume, put a few little holes in the area where they crawl up the wall and injected it with a turkey baster after they left, they never came back. It worked so well I tried it to keep deer and ground hogs away from "something'' I had growing in the woods, didn't work on that.

Omg my nan used mothballs for clothes she didn't regularly wear...one day she decided to wear this dress but even after 3 days of being aired in the washing line it still stank of naphtalene (the chemical in mothballs) so in the end she threw it away...thankfully no more moth balls after that.

No i don't use moth balls. I am sure they have something more up-to-date these days to preserve clothes or keep insects away.

yes, to repel moths. They can't stand the smell of this thing so they will avoid your closet and will not make holes on them.

They are poisonous, so be careful. They stink. They keep moths out of your stored clothing so they do eat/nest in it. It also works well to keep cats out of your yard (sprinkle around)....just don't do it if you have small children or dogs that may eat it.

Keep moths away from items in storage- mainly clothing; especially wool items.

Yes. I put them into my gas tank for increased mileage in my car. They have increased my highway mileage from 38 mpg Highway to 42 mpg Highway. There's been a slight uptick in my city mpg average, but not significant enough to use the mothballs for city driving.
