Unless you get some kind of thrill out of looking at long stretches of I-75, I would say fly. Of course, the economics depends on how many airline tickets you have to buy. Additionally, remember to factor in food and lodging as well as gas if you drive.
If you are pretty much going to one destination when you get there, then I would lean toward flying. However, if you will be scouting around the state, then driving may be best.
All in all, if you can afford it, I would fly. You burn 4 days of your vacation just coming and going. A lot if you don't have at least a couple of weeks.

Depending where you are going to Florida. If you are going to South Florida, it will take up to 24 hours and Atlanta will be the halfway point and it also depends on how much you are willing to spend on transportation and/or accommodations on the way. If you drive, it will take at least 20 hours to get from Detroit to the border line of Florida and if you fly, I am guessing it will take at least three to four hours to fly there. My advise is to fly if you like to rent a car but if you are not fond of renting a automobile, I recommend you to drive to Florida.

Depends on your budget and the part of Florida you are going to. Sure, flying would be better, but if you are going to a city in northern Florida, you might as well save yourself a few bucks and drive. Then you wouldn't have to get a rental car. If you're planning on going to southern Florida, like Ft. Lauderdale, definately fly.

It depends on a couple of things.
How many people are going?
Where in Florida are you going?
Have you ever driven to Florida before.
If it's just the 2 of you or you're on your own then flying is less than 3 hours. Driving is 20 hours non-stop to Tampa (not speeding)
More than two and you have to start seriously thinking about driving.
If you do, fill up on gass in Georgia before you cross into Florida - cheaper.
If you do, make sure you stop at the first rest area after you cross the Florida state line. (Free OJ)

I would most definately fly! It's such a super long drive!! Try airtran.com or spiritair.com for low cost airlines that service Detroit and major cities in Florida!

Depends on if you like to drive long distances or not. Driving seems to take two or so days (with a stop at night). Or you can fly and be there in a few hours. Its your desision, but I would say FLY!

There's a lot of value in driving instead of flying - the cost can be lower, when you get there you have a car. What you might spend in one day ini taxi fees, you could have had a rental. You can stop in places and take pics along the way, have fun with it!

With gas prices the way they are...
If there's more than just you, I'd price it out with an estimate for gas, and then pop online to check airfare deals....then make an educated decision.
If it's just you, then you're in for a long and expensive drive. I'd fly if solo.
