Good question. It beats me. I'd guess it's because women make a bigger deal out of those sorts of things than men do.

Because mothers are the only ones who are really 100% sure which kids are theirs. Fathers on the other hand may have some doubt and therefore do not celebrate as grandly.

Unfortunately a large number of men have moved away from society's perception of -the man is the provider for his family. They have left women to provide and care for their seed, as well as emotionally separated themselves if they are still in the household. Because of these type men fathers day is not celebrated on the same level as mothers day. Most mothers will nurture and cling to their children; that is why your most fondest memories of childhood include a female presence.

I was just talking about that today. It's because a lot of "Father's" are dead beats and aren't around in the child's life. The Mother has been there since day one! Now I am not saying ALL men just hit and run, but the majority does.

I completely forgot about Mother's Day. Didn't call, send a card or flowers. It's been years, actually. Heard she moved in 2002, don't have the address or really care for that matter. Guilt trips were used very often on us kids, and wore out any effectiveness they once held over us.

If you ask me, somebody screwed up. Mother's Day should be in June since the weather is better than May...but who really gives a crap anyway?

Maybe Mom (chief organizer of home festivities, typically and chief layer-on-of guilt if someone else neglects to organize at least minimal recognition of Mother's Day) wisely acknowledges that Dad would just as soon save the money as have it spent on himself in elaborate ways.

Most Dads on Sundays would be happier if the kids allowed him to have an extra long Sunday afternoon nap (alone with Mom;)

Because a mother gives birth. The dad just helped out!
I think because the mother in most cases do more for a child. Like cooking and cleaning and making boo boo's "cuts" better.
It's really not fair but I have noticed it also.

Mothers give birth to their babies while fathers don't. Mothers are usually known to work harder than fathers. Children usually get along with their mothers more than their fathers.

I think that fathers day is celebrated as much as mothers day. they are both very special people in you life and you should respect, and love them each the same.
so to me this ia a stupid question.

I think it's because alot of fathers leave their children and the mom is left to raise the kids alone. So the moms get double glory because they deserve it. women are so much stronger than men.
