how do you advertise on the radio?

I have a new company - we host parties and events.. and we are about to launch our clothing. Yummy Inc. based on the Yummy foundation, which sends a single parent back to school every year. How did it start? - well I am a single mom.... and everyone called me a yummy mummy.... so why not.... I bet there are a lot of us, and a ton of Yummy daddies too. I am just starting to advertise... To advertise on the radio just call the station and ask for the marketing dept.
